Women’s History Month
March is designated as Women’s History Month, but 31 days just isn’t enough time to remember and capture all the attributes of women to the ins and outs of history. I will shine the spotlight on some of the most well-known women, some that you may not have heard of, and some I am sure you have never heard of. This world of ours was shaped by, and is still being molded by some of the strongest women imaginable. Starting tomorrow, I will begin a journey of sharing the details of some of the most prolific women to grace us with their presences. Check back here every weekday for information that is bound to enlighten you.
How Did I Get Here?
Abuse is not love. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
Love does not hurt. If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that love does not hurt. I am not talking about the occasional mistake. I do not mean forgetting a special date because of a hectic schedule or because life just happens to be life-ing. I am talking about the intentional infliction of pain.
Domestic violence is one of the most atrocious acts that one can be involved in. I know. I was caught up in that tornado for the entirety of a 19 year marriage, and my abuser continued the financial abuse even after the marriage was over.
You may be wondering how you got there. It is a question that every victim asks her- or himself. The answer? There are as many as there are digits on your hands and feet. My job is to help you figure out how you got there and what steps you need to take to get out. It can happen. I do not care how horrid the situation is or how hopeless you may feel, there is a way out.
Let’s make the journey together.
